Slither (2006): A Twisted Sci-Fi Horror
Directed by James Gunn, Slither is a darkly comedic and grotesque horror film that pays homage to classic B-movie creature features. The film stars Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks, and Michael Rooker in a story of small-town chaos as an alien parasite invades the quiet community of Wheelsy.
The plot kicks off when Grant Grant (played by Michael Rooker) becomes infected by a slimy, otherworldly organism. Transformed into a grotesque, tentacled creature, Grant begins infecting other townsfolk, spreading the alien menace. The town's sheriff, Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion), teams up with Starla (Elizabeth Banks), Grant's wife, to battle the parasitic invasion and save the town.
